Summary

On 9 October 1945 tractor-ploughing to a depth of 10 to 12 inches brought to light what the previous year's ploughing had failed to disturb, fragments of a vessel of calcite-gritted ware, and a number of coins of the third century. Investigation by one of the farm workers brought to light a number of stones which had apparently formed a cache in which the vessel was deposited. 1,220 antoniniani (radiates): Philip I - Aurelian.
