Summary

As a man was clearing away the earth on the road to lower and ease the declivity of a hill in the Parish of Sproxton, he found a little pot filled with earth. The man discovered a hundred coins on the site. The place is a quarter of a mile from Sproxton Church, on the highway to Saltby. On the west side of the road from Saltby to Sproxton, five yards from the hedge and 570 yards north of Sproxton Church, halfway up a slight natural rise in the ground. 95 siliquae clipped: Constantius II - House of Theodosius.
