Grey-ware, possibly a product of the Ravenstone kiln (late 3rd to early 4th century), though strainers not a known product. "Form basically a necked bowl, pierced to form strainer" with 27 holes in 3 concentric circles in base before firing. Some of rim missing due to plough damage. Wheel thrown, fine sandy, with burnished exterior in upper part.
