Summary

While labourers were digging clay at the Littlewood Tile and Brick Works, Croston. At a depth of from two to three feet a shallow dish of baked clay, containing probably from two to three hundred Roman third brass coins. The latter were soon distributed among the workmen. 65 antoniniani (radiates) recovered: Valerian I - Postumus.
